Which mask and filters do I need?
If you are going to make latex clothing, you will be working with glue and thinner. The fumes are harmful! So there are two options:
1. You are going to work outside in the fresh air.
2. You wear a protective mask.
We advise you to wear a protective mask. The best is a mask with 2 filters on both sides of the mask. Then a filter is finer on only 1 side, because the weight on the left and right is the same with two filters. You can buy a full face mask (that's over the eyes, nose and mouth), or a half face mask (that's over the nose and mouth).
The most important thing about a mask is the right filter! Filters have different color codes. For gases and vapors of organic composition, such as thinner and glue, you need a filter with a brown code. For ammonia, the code is green. Read the packaging carefully if you are going to buy a filter for the use of thinner and glue! The code may be different in your country!
Replace filters on time!
It is important that you replace a filter regularly. Usually that is after 8 hours of use. Once you smell the fumes with the mask on, you need to replace the filters.
What brand of mask?
That doesn't really matter. 3M is a worldwide known brand and they sell various masks. They are also often available in hardware stores. Or just online.
Which masks are not suitable?
Dust masks, FFP corona masks etc. are NOT suitable!!
