Latex weight
If you are going to make latex clothes, it is important to determine in advance what the latex should do. Should the latex flutter behind you, fall nice and smoothly, be extra sturdy to put in or something else ....?
The thought of many people is ... "do thick and expensive latex, because then it's always good". That is really not the case. Most clothing is made from 0.40 and 0.50. Do you want to make a latex corset, or a latex belt, or a latex bag, then you really have to get started with 1.05 mm.
The thicker the latex, the heavier the latex. With a latex belt it is of course not so exciting how heavy the belt is, because it is on your hips and it is stuck. So you don't feel that weight.
But if you are going to make a Spanish dress, with many ruffles made from large latex circles, then it will quickly contain 5 meters of latex! If you finish the dress with a halter strap, then all that weight will be hanging at 1 point in the neck ....
If the dress is only worn at home on the couch, it doesn't matter, but if you wear the dress for an entire evening at a party ... then put a lot of paracetoles in your handbag in advance ... you need them ;-).
Below is a table with an indication of the weight of latex.
