Can latex clothing go in the washing machine?

Of course latex can be washed in the washing machine, anything can be done in the washing machine. But it doesn't make much sense.

Why not?
Textiles consist of threads; the threads consist of fibers. Dirt and sweat, etc., get into the fibres. Washing it in a washing machine causes the textile (and therefore the fibres) to move and the water and soap to wash through the fibres, and therefore the textile to become clean again.

Latex has no fibers; so there is nothing to rinse. It's like washing a plastic bag in a washing machine. It is of no use because plastic also has no fibres; so the dirt is on the plastic. The same goes for latex.

The same goes for the detergent. For example, some people use a detergent with a color enhancer, such as the detergent 'Robijn extra black'. In textiles it is absorbed by the fibers, but because latex has no fibers it is not absorbed into the latex. Coloring agents can sometimes color the latex, but it usually becomes blotchy and not nice and smooth. So it makes no sense and it is a waste of money.
In addition, a washing machine is running and the latex can get a lot of wrinkles (this also depends on the washing program).

How to clean?
We recommend that you simply wash the latex in a bucket or bathtub. First rinse with good hot water (not boiling, but too hot for your hands) and soap. Then with ViviClean and then with ViviShine. And then the latex smells nice and fresh again and looks beautiful again!
